Down the Darkest Road is the third book in the series about the small town Oaks Knoll, in the 1980s. In the last book FBI agent Leone used a new technique called "profiling" to catch a killer. In this instalment Hoag's continues to examines the time when forensic science was just being introduced.

This sounds like a very interesting story. It is told in the form of a letter. I know this isn't a new idea but once in a while its nice to give a chance to a book that's a little different.
Min Green and Ed Slaterton are breaking up, so Min is writing Ed a letter and giving him a box. Inside the box is why they broke up. Two bottle caps, a movie ticket, a folded note, a box of matches, a protractor, books, a toy truck, a pair of ugly earrings, a comb from a motel room, and every other item collected over the course of a giddy, intimate, heartbreaking relationship. Item after item is illustrated and accounted for, and then the box, like a girlfriend, will be dumped.
